It’s hard to get past the India-Australia cricket rivalry these days. So, when Audi India head Joe King arrived on stage to take the Saloon Car of the Year award for Audi A3 at the BBC Top Gear Awards on Wednesday night in Mumbai, giving it away was former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar.

“Being an Australian, I promise I will not make a comment on cricket,” joked King. Meanwhile, Eberhard Kern, MD and CEO of Mercedes Benz India, was awarded Man of the Year. Despite being the boss, he showed a welcome absence of formality when he made two trips to the bar to get water bottles for his entire team.
