Corporate hotshots took it upon themselves to ‘Save Hindustani Sangeet’ and filled Saturday night with melodies from the golden era of film music. Organised by Indrajeet Keisham Sangeet Academy, its third Annual Show witnessed Reena Wadhwa (with husband and CEO of Ambit Holdings Ashok cheering her on), media man Girish Agarwal, chairman of TPG Growth Manish Chokhani, Welspun’s director Rajesh Mandawewala, Datamatics’ Priyadarshini Kanodia, and many more singing nostalgia tunes in front of a packed Bhavan’s auditorium in Mumbai.

Loud applause indicated appreciation for classic hits like ‘Aage bhi jaane na tu’ (Waqt), ‘Abhi na jao chhod kar’ (Sadhana), and many more. The show, we learnt, was put together by all the corporate crooners practising for three continuous days. “We have all been practising hard without any concern for what is happening in our offices,” says Agarwal. For this bunch, music obviously beats number-crunching.
