In new party pic with Sergey Brin, Elon Musk laughs off 'Nicole Shanahan affair' rumours

Hours after an exclusive report claimed that Elon Musk, world's richest man, had a brief liaison with Google co-founder Sergey Brin's wife Nicole Shanahan, the Tesla CEO slammed the article and said the accusation was "false".

The businessman on Monday clarified that Brin and him are friends and were at a party together just a night before the report broke on the Internet.

Now a picture of Musk with the Google co-founder from the said party has found its way on Twitter, which supports the SpaceX chief's statement.


"Yeah, that was Sergey and me yesterday afternoon!" Musk replied to the original tweet with the picture of two businessmen.
This comes just hours after Musk had taken to Twitter to address the exclusive report by The Wall Street Journal which claimed that the 51-year-old was the reason behind Brin and Shanahan's divorce and his short affair with the Google co-founder's ex-wife caused him their friendship.

"This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic," Musk had said on Monday.
'Their Divorce Has Nothing To Do With Me'
In an email to the NY Post, Musk sternly clarified that "Nicole and Sergey's divorce has absolutely nothing to do with him."

"I am sure both Nicole and Sergey would confirm that. I spoke with both Sergey and Nicole about this and they say the story isn’t coming from them, so [it] must be a case of broken telephone, two or three layers removed," he added. "And, not to dodge the question, I have only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around."

"We were not romantically involved in any way," Musk insisted.

'Will Try My Best To Be Heads Down Focused'
Musk's personal life has been at the centre stage while he finds himself in the middle of an on-going legal drama with Twitter Inc over the $44 billion buyout deal.

In a separate tweet, Musk spoke about the attention that has suddenly fallen on him which made "even trivial" articles about him generate a lot of clicks.

"The amount of attention on me has gone supernova, which super sucks. Unfortunately, even trivial articles about me generate a lot of clicks :( Will try my best to be heads down focused on doing useful things for civilization," the Tesla boss tweeted on Tuesday.
Recently, reports revealed that Musk became the father to twins born to a senior executive at another company he co-founded, Neuralink.

While another report had claimed that the SpaceX boss paid an employee $250,000 to settle a sexual harassment allegation in 2016. Musk had slammed the "character assassination attacks" which have reached a "new level" this year.

"Yeah, the character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year, but the articles are all nothing-burgers. I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans. None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed!" Musk said after the WSJ report blew up.
