In a video to staff, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg takes full responsibility for sacking 11,000 employees, calls it ‘toughest decision’
Meta on Wednesday announced that it will go on a massive firing spree.

A leaked video of the founder and CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has surfaced on the Internet. In the short video, Zuckerberg can be heard saying that it was one of the toughest decisions that he ever took in the history of Meta, which has been a global leader for over 18 years. The 38-year-old said that he takes full responsibility for the decision and acknowledges the impact it would have on the lives of the company’s employees. He asserted that being the CEO and founder of the company, he is responsible for the health of the company and its future.
“I know there must be a range of different emotions. I want to say, upfront, that I take full responsibility for this decision. I am the founder and CEO and I am responsible for the health of our company, for our direction, and for deciding how we execute that including things like this. And, this ultimately my call, and it was one of the hardest calls that I had to make in the 18 years of running the company,” the CEO said in the video.

But also for our mission, we are losing people who have put heart and soul into this place. Each of you is talented and passionate and each of you has played a role in making Meta this success that it is. No matter what team you may have worked on, each of you played a role in contributing to the products that billions of people used to connect every day,” said Zuckerberg while talking about the layoff.
