In a birthday note, Karan Johar recalls meeting SRK for the first time, says actor shaped his 'very being'
Johar reveals that he tagged along his father on the film's set to meet Kajol but instead met the man who shaped his life.
The film-maker penned a letter for Khan on his birthday, as he recalled the first time he met the actor on the film set of 'Karan Arjun'. Johar revealed that he tagged along with his father on the film's set to meet Kajol, unaware that he'd meet the man who'd shape his life, career and his 'very being'.
"His charisma and intelligence is a globally known fact," the film-maker said, adding that he had the chance to witness SRK's humanity and heart. "I met him on the sets of Karan Arjun for the first time …. I tagged along with my father to hang out with Kajol… not realising I was going to meet a man who would go on to shape my life , my career and my very being ….his charisma and intelligence is a globally known fact … but I have the privilege of witnessing his humanity and heart," Johar wrote on Instagram.
'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' director further called Khan an "unmatchable father, rock solid husband, loving brother and an indispensable friend" as he prayed that every 'Mannat' of the actor gets answered.
"He is all that and so much more …Love you so much Bhai … may every Mannat of yours get answered and the abundant love you rightfully deserve keep coming your way….," the film-maker added as he wished SRK on his 56th birthday.
Actor Shah Rukh Khan, fondly known as Bollywood's King Khan, turns 56 today. SRK, who started performing in theatre while finishing his schooling, is now one of the most well-known names in the film industry. Khan began his career with television series in late 1980s and made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with 'Deewana'.
With films like 'Baazigar', 'Darr' and 'Anjaam', SRK made antagonists of films look good on the silver screen. The actor acieved massive praise and fame for his performances in films such as 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Mohabbatein', 'Swades', 'Devdas' and more. So it comes as no surprise that Khan has numerous accolades including 14 Filmfare Awards, a Padma Shri, and Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Legion of Honour awarded by the government of France.
