Christian Bale may have stopped being the protector of Gotham City, but he’s not done saving lives. As per a Variety report, the Batman Begins star launched a foster care village in Palmdale, California. The main purpose of this home, in which the superstar reportedly splurged $22 million, is to ensure that siblings who enter foster care stay together. Twelve three-bedroom furnished homes, including two studio flats for individuals leaving foster care, make up the 11,000-square-foot complex. Each home would house six kids along with foster parents.

A Village Designed To Keep Siblings Together

According to Yahoo Finance, the design also features studio housing, gardens, and open space for young adults leaving foster care and birth parents visiting their kids.

Together with his wife Sibi Blazic, Bale has two children of his own: Luka and Rex Bale. Having children of his own prompted him to consider the situation of youngsters without parents.

How The Project Came To Life

In order to do this, the two joined forces in 2022 to establish the charity Together California. Donations made the project feasible. Nearly $9 million was raised for the project with assistance from the Austrian American Council West. Kathryn Barger, the supervisor of Los Angeles County, played a key role in making it a reality. According to an LMT Online report, 4.7 acres of land were purchased in Los Angeles for $1.7 million.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the property sits beside McAdam Park on 30th Street East in Palmdale, California, a city situated around 60 miles north of Los Angeles and home to more than 160,000 residents. BroBible reported that the $22 million price of the residence amounts to approximately 18% of the actor’s estimated $120 million fortune.
