Impressed with Rinku Singh's 5 successive IPL sixes, Shah Rukh Khan kickstarts new #JhoomeJoRinku meme

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was a proud owner when cricketer Rinku Singh impressed everyone with his batting heroics in a thrilling match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The KKR cricketer smashed five successive sixes in the final five balls of the last over to seal a thrilling three-wicket win against GT, the defending champions at their home territory of Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Proud SRK, who is also the owner of the KKR franchise with actress Juhi Chawla, celebrated the brilliant with a 'Pathaan' twist.


Hailing Singh's five sixes in the final over, the 57-year-old shared a morphed picture of his blockbuster with Singh's face superimposed on SRK's. He wrote, "Jhoome Jo Rinkuuuuu! My baby, Rinku Singh, and Nitish Rana & Venkatesh Iyer, you beauties! And remember, believe that's all. Congratulations, KKRiders and CEO

The official handle of KKR took the #JhoomeJoRinku trends a notch higher with a morphed video teaser of 'Pathaan'.

Khan's actress-daughter Suhana also hailed the cricketer on Sunday for his amazing batting skills in the final.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a picture on her story and wrote, "Unreal."

SRK's son Aryan also shared a post on his Instagram Story, and captioned it, "BEAST."

The cricket fraternity also lauded the ace batter, who pulled off one of the greatest heists in the T20 format.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar said that the thrilling match taught fans that "it is not over till it is over."

"A match that went down to the wire & continued shifting momentum. One felt Rashid's hat-trick was a game-changer but Rinku's power-hitting was something special. Enjoyed the last few moments. This amazing game continues to teach us that it's not over till it's over. #GTvKKR," tweeted Tendulkar.


KKR's regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, who is out of IPL 2023 due to a back injury, also celebrated the win. "What a match, unbelievable. Rinku bhai kabhi na haare! (What a match, unbelievable, Rinku bhai never loses!)," he wrote in his Instagram Story.

Former opener Virender Sehwag also hailed Singh. "5 sixes in 5 balls in the last over of a run chase. One of the best last over-hitting in a chase that you would ever see. #KKRvGT," he tweeted.


Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan also lauded Rinku's knock. "Unbelievable hitting by @rinkusingh235 What a win by KKR," tweeted Pathan.


Former cricketer Mohammed Kaif also expressed happiness at Rinku's heroics, calling him "one of the most hard-working cricketers” he has known.


"So happy for Rinku Singh, one of the most hard-working cricketers I have known. He is from Aligarh, a very modest family background. His first season with the UP team was my last," said Kaif.


The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) expressed their awe and inspiration at Singh's consecutive hits. "Awestruck and inspired by what we witnessed earlier tonight! Top knock under pressure, Rinku! #PlayBold #GTvKKR #IPL2023," tweeted RCB.


The International Cricket Council (ICC) also acknowledged Rinku's knock, drawing parallels with West Indies all-rounder Carlos Braithwaite's knock against England in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, where he smashed Ben Stokes for four successive sixes in the final over to seal WI's second title.
