'Imposing dress codes or rules will destroy Goa's reputation as a smorgasbord of culture'
With the Serendipity Arts Festival coming up in Goa later this month, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, one of the patrons of the event, rates the beach state highly for embracing the many events held at its sunny coasts.

“Goa is a fantastic cultural hub and of course, it’s liberal in its thinking, making it a good venue for various festivals. You cannot suddenly have dos and don’ts there”the Biocon chairman told ETPanache.

However, the entrepreneur also shared her apprehensions over imposing dress codes or rules, which she feels, will destroy the state’s reputation as a smorgasbord of culture. “All this is dangerous. You can’t suddenly say, ‘You can’t wear skirts, you can’t wear jeans, women must dress in a particular way’. That is all unhealthy,” she said.
