LOS ANGELES: Legendary singer John Lennon's chunk of hair has been sold at an auction for $35,000.

Heritage Auction in Dallas had the four-inch chunk of Lennon's hair after a hairdresser cut it off before his role in a 1967 movie called, "How I Won The War."

According to reports, Paul Fraser, a UK-based memorabilia collector was the highest bidder.

$35K might seem like a lot of money but as far a Lennon memorabilia goes, it's loose change.

His '65 Rolls Royce Phantom V sold for $2.23 million and lyrics to "All You Need is Love" netted $1.25 million.
