Ikka OTT release date out: When and where to watch Akshaye Khanna, Sunny Deol’s courtroom drama

Akshaye Khanna and Sunny Deol are ready to share the screen space after nearly 3 decades. The duo first collaborated on director JP Dutta’s cult classic war drama Border. The film, also starring Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff in key roles, premiered in 1997. Now, Akshaye, last seen in Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster film Dhurandhar and Sunny, who last appeared in Border 2 have reunited for a gritty, courtroom drama, titled Ikka. The upcoming movie is now ready to arrive in the OTT space.

Ikka OTT premiere: When and where to watch

Ikka, directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, is ready to stream on Netflix from July 10. The OTT giant announced the film release date by sharing the powerful and intense trailer on its official Instagram handle. The side note read, ‘The biggest case needs the biggest player. Ikka aa raha hai (Ikka is coming)’.

Ikka: Plot synopsis and cast details

Ikka follows the story of Arjun Mehra, a celebrated lawyer renowned for his integrity and unmatched courtroom record, earning him the title "Ikka" in legal circles. His unwavering commitment to justice is put to the ultimate test when he is compelled to defend Shauryamann Gaur, a man accused in a high-profile attempted murder case whom Arjun had once successfully prosecuted. As the trial unfolds, long-buried truths resurface, blurring the lines between his personal and professional life while placing his family under immense strain.

Sunny Deol leads the film as Arjun Mehra, with Akshaye Khanna portraying Shauryamann Gaur. Actress Tillotama Shome slips into the shoes of the sharp and determined public prosecutor Madhura Banerjee, while Dia Mirza essays the character of Arjun's wife, Avantika, who struggles to hold the family together as the emotionally charged case takes its toll. Ikka, written by Althea Kaushal and Mayank Tewari, is produced collaboratively by Siddharth P. Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra under the banners of Alchemy Films. For the unversed, Ikka also marls the director’s second Netflix original after the critically acclaimed crime drama Maharaja (2024), starring Aamir Khan’s son Junaid, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari Wagh and Shalini Pandey.
