Chasing Milestones
In one tweet, he shared that back in 2020, Arpit and his friends thought Rs 25 LPA was the ultimate milestone. “Life will be easy once we reach that,” he recalled. At that time, they were making Rs 12-15 LPA and envied managers pulling in 25. Fast forward a few years, most of his circle crossed that figure and even doubled or tripled it—but instead of satisfaction, the chase for the next big number only got faster. His reminder? Sprint, relax, repeat—but don’t forget to actually relax.Arpit also believes careers aren’t built on constant highs. In tech, he says, you’ll only get 2–3 chances in your entire life to work on something truly meaningful. And when those chances come, grab them, because not every year is going to be epic, no matter what LinkedIn makes you believe.
No advice from billionaires
He also warns against obsessing over advice from billionaires and “ultra-successful” figures. “If you’re a fresher, you’ll probably benefit more from listening to a Principal Engineer than Elon Musk,” he quipped, urging young techies to look around for practical, accessible insights instead of chasing distant wisdom. And finally, Arpit reminds everyone that money, fame, and respect are never real goals—they’re byproducts. What matters is what you’re actually chasing. The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
