If the descendants can ram six-wheeled mobile devices, so can the ancestors

Given that just the day before, a certain primate of the species Homo sapiens rammed an airport shuttle bus into a stationary Air India aircraft for no good reason, news that a hominoid cousin — a rhesus macaque, probably — briefly if brazenly commandeered a bus in Bareilly, comes as no surprise. However, even though much like the airport incident, the monkey-jacked bus also slammed into a couple of other vehicles, the simian cannot be held to account. After all, not only will it be difficult to tell which of the thousands of monkeys gambolling around the UP town was the perpetrator, there is no law to deal with such an occurrence either. Moreover, the poor macaque was only doing what its species is wont to do: ape others, and generally monkeying around.

The precision with which the monkey switched on the ignition of the bus and also managed to put it into second gear bespeaks careful and prolonged surveillance by the creature of a mundane procedure that most humans would not commonly pay any heed to. Had the driver and conductor of the bus displayed similar single-minded attention to their job, the monkey may not have gotten away with this business in the first place. As 2016 is the Chinese Year of the Monkey, this could have been just a trial run, and more simian shenanigans cannot be ruled out.
