LOS ANGELES: Singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor says if people hate the song, it becomes a huge success.

The 21-year-old "Lips Are Movin" songtress said she has learned this fact from her personal experience as her hit single "All About That Bass", recieved fair share of criticism, reported Digital Spy.

"I know the formula. If they hate it, that's a hit, you know? Because they're just playing it too much. The greatest songs are the ones that are timeless," Trainor said.

"The ones that I can write now and in 60 years they will want to play it in their house and they will still jam to as if it was brand new," she added.

Trainor recently went through vocal cord surgery which she said was "a big slap in the face".
