Idlis for breakfast but Justin Trudeau had salmon rolls for dinner

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s India visit has led to some great pictures of the First Family at the Taj Mahal and of them dressed in traditional garb. And much like his unusual itinerary in India, Trudeau’s meals were also unconventional.

The Prime Minister, who was staying at a luxury hotel in South Mumbai for a night, was treated to Japanese cuisine instead of the traditional spread of Indian delicacies that’s usually reserved for foreign dignitaries. Why the break in tradition? Turns out, the Canadian PM is quite fond of Japanese food. The menu from the in-house Japanese restaurant at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel included Avocado Tartare, Salmon Rolls and White Fish Carpaccio.

While Japan dominated Trudeau’s dinner plate, he indulged in Indian flavours for breakfast the next morning with a plate of idlis.
