I was reminded that… : When Twitter offered some wisdom to Anand Mahindra

The Internet has often taught us a thing or two. Recently, the Mahindra and Mahindra boss was the one to receive some wisdom from Twitter after he had shared an innovative video with his 8.4 million followers.

The microblogging site, it seems, gave Mahindra some insights on sustainability. The business tycoon had shared a video of a vendor selling coconut water in a creative way through his innovative machine which drilled a hole inside the coconut, then through a machine, the water was filtered out into a plastic cup, ready to drink. The stall also came with a fixed cut blade to chop the coconut into two pieces to scoop the cream out without having to slice it with a knife.

"I did tweet it appreciatively but immediately received responses pointing out that traditional vendors were faster with just one knife, were equally hygienic & didn’t use plastic cups," Mahindra wrote on Twitter.


While the Mahindra Group chairman shared the video to promote the vendor and applaud his creativity, Twitter instantly reminded him of a few good points that the 66-year-old businessman shared with the world. "Sustainability means not creating complexity where simplicity will suffice. Twitter, at its best, offers instant wisdom!" is the lesson Mahindra learnt from Twitter.


This is not the only reminder Mahindra shared with Twitterati. Earlier on Thursday, he had also shared a small adorable clip of a puppy asking to be let in the house. The lesson that Mahindra learnt from the puppy? "Persistence always pays off."

Seems like the businessman was hit with some really thoughtful notes in the week. Well, we are sure Twitter isn't complaining, nor are we. Let more such lessons and learnings come in!
