Sadiya Siddiqui was in love with Shah Rukh Khan
Sadiya Siddiqui, in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, revealed that she confessed her feelings for Shah Rukh Khan to the film’s director, Kundan Shah. ‘When I was called for the film, I was already drowning in love for Shah Rukh Khan,’ she shared, adding that her emotions run so deep that she didn't even feel like ‘seeing anyone else’.
Sadiya Siddiqui, who claims to still love Shah Rukh Khan, admitted that back then, her own confession to Kundan Shah surprised her. She wondered where the courage to declare her feelings directly to the director came from. But Kundan simply laughed at her words and asked Sadiya what she wanted to do. To this, the actress stated that she wanted to be SRK’s girlfriend, but the director told her that she was ‘too young’.
Sadiya Siddiqui’s attempts and final role
For the unversed, Kundan Shah approached Sadiya Siddiqui for the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s younger sister Nikki in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa after he loved her performance as a child actor in the 1993 Doordarshan show Humrahi. Sadiya, however, was adamant that she could play an older character, even dressing up like a grown woman to convince the director.
