- My style: For me, style is personality, self-expression and confidence. My style is generally eclectic — I like to dress by mood and emotion, so it changes from day-to-day or from phase-tophase of my life.

- Must-haves: In my book, raw indigo denims, slim fit khakis, basic navy, slim fit T-shirt and a heavy poplin white buttondown shirt are essentials.

- Weekend vs Weekday: My style is generally the same. I like to be seamless from day to evening, from weekday to weekend.

- My most-prized item: Definitely, raw indigo jeans. When you find the right pair, buy them in bulk. I have four pairs of the exact same denim.

- Splurge: I would splurge on shoes. Growing up playing basketball, sneakers have always been something I have enjoyed. I’m a textile innovation nerd so I really enjoy seeing the things brands are doing in sneakers.

- Brand speak: Most people know me as a big Nike fan. I also like Adidas, Neil Barrett, Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs. Tom Ford is the master in formal wear. A new brand that I like is Maharishi.

- Small talk: When it comes to accessories every man should own a good watch — smart, digital, analog — it doesn’t matter. It’s just nice to have some wrist candy.

- Trend speak: I love that people are getting into sneakers. Now when I go out, I don’t have to worry about changing into “formal” shoes. A trend I dislike is the overall adoption of fast fashion.

- Style advice: Don’t try too hard.

- Never ever: Well I should never say never right? But it is highly unlikely that you will find me wearing a muscle tee. I wore plenty of those in school when they were “cool”. Just remembering it now makes me sick to my stomach.

- Celeb style: David Beckham is still one of the best in classic, easy style. He can switch from jeans into a suit flawlessly. I also think LeBron James has a good stylist — keeping him up on trend but never letting him go too far.
