‘I don’t know where my charger is’: Harry Styles reveals his laptop has been dead for 6 years. Singer shares how he records his ideas

Harry Styles does not use a laptop. In a world obsessed with smartphones and gadgets, the singer does not use one. Instead, he relies on ‘primitive’ ways to note down his ideas for work. The 32-year-old, who is busy with his Together tour, will next be performing at Madison Square Garden, New York, on October 14. Ahead of that, he recently sat for an interview, spilling the beans on work habits.

Harry Styles recently sat for an interview with Rolling Stone’s Thom Yorke. When Yorke asked Styles whether he prefers to travel with a laptop, Styles had an interesting confession. The Watermelon Sugar singer shared that his laptop has been dead for nearly 6 years.

When Thorke expressed shock at the admission, Styles simply laughed it off. When questioned about how he jots down ideas for work, the As It Was hitmaker shared that he uses his phone for that stuff.


Elaborating on the topic, Styles added that he uses the free digital audio workstation (DAW) and music creation software, GarageBand, a lot. Apart from that, the singer also relies on voice notes, calling it a ‘primitive’ style.

Harry Styles’ ex-girlfriend helped him with anxiety

During the same conversation, Harry Styles further talked about suffering from public anxiety during his One Direction days nd how his former partners helped him overcome it. ‘So much of the hotel experience felt locked-in. When I’d be home, it felt like, ‘Oh, it’s not safe for me to be out,’ he said.

Styles added that back then he had an ‘outgoing’ girlfriend and she was coming to visit him in London. That’s when the Grammy-winning singer realised that if he sat in the house for 3 days or more, his then-girlfriend would think he was acting strange.

So, when she finally came over, they walked everywhere, which in turn made Styles realise that it was fine to step out and that it was his anxiety that was stopping him. Styles dated Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner and Caroline Flack in the past.
