Huawei P30 Pro Unboxing: Revolutionary Leica Quad Camera
Huawei on Tuesday launched its P30 Pro in India at an event in New Delhi. The smartphone, that had made its world debut alongside Huawei P30 in Paris last month, is priced at Rs 71,990 for the 8GB RAM/ 256GB variant.

The P30 Pro sports a Leica-powered quad rear camera setup and reverse wireless charging. The dual Nano-SIM device runs on EMIUI 9.1 based on Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC coupled with an 8GB RAM.

Weighing 192 grams, it features an in-display fingerprint scanner, and the IP68-certified dust and water resistance characteristics are worth a mention. The device features a 6.47-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) OLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It also offers support for the DCI-P3 colour gamut.


P30 Pro, available in two colour options: Aurora and Breathing Crystal, runs on a 4,200mAh battery with support for the Chinese smartphone maker's 15W Wireless Quick Charge and 40W SuperCharge features.

Upfront, the P30 Pro features a 32-megapixel selfie camera coupled with f/2.0 aperture lens and AI HDR+.


The highlight of P30 Pro is its rear quad camera setup. It sports a 40-megapixel primary camera with a SuperSpectrum sensor. This is coupled with a wide-angle lens, an f/1.6 aperture, and optical image stabilisation (OIS). The rear setup is also accompanied by a 20-megapixel sensor with ultra wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture, and an 8-megapixel sensor with telephoto lens and f/3.4 aperture. The fourth camera in this setup is Huawei's time-of-flight (ToF) sensor. It is strengthened by features like phase detection, contrast-based and laser autofocus. Huawei's AI-based image stabilisation, which offers 5x optical, 10x hybrid, and 50x digital zoom completes the setup. A Dual-View video mode allows users to shoot wide-angle and close-up views at the same time.

Upfront, the P30 Pro features a 32-megapixel selfie camera coupled with f/2.0 aperture lens and AI HDR+.

Its 256GB inbuilt storage can be expanded up to 256GB via the tech giant's Nano Memory card in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth v5.0, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C (v3.1), Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Dual-Band GPS. Other features on board are ambient light, colour temperature, proximity and infrared sensors, accelerometer, digital compass and a gyroscope.
