The Not So Hunky-Dory Hunk?

In a recent interview, Bollywood's resident ‘Greek God’ made a startling admission.

Talking to his fitness trainer Kris Gethin, the ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ star open up about dealing with depression and he “was dying” while filming for ‘War’. Talking in length about the intense physical transformation he went through, the superstar said, “I was trying to achieve perfection for which I wasn’t ready. After the film, I went into adrenaline fatigue. For 3-4 months, I couldn’t train, wasn’t feeling good.”

He also revealed he battled depression and was “completely lost.”

Gethin recalled how serious the star was about his fitness regimen and how he “didn’t take a day off in seven months.” He revealed the actor always met his fitness targets and went to bed early. It was also revealed that the ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ star was dealing with serious injuries since childhood.

When quizzed on why he had a health scare, the actor said that age may have been a factor. He also added that he was not living an organised, balanced life and took many things for granted. "Somewhere along the way, I started feeling that it is okay to relax.” He said that he has resolved to be more committed to fitness and not make it a one-time affair for a body transformation. “This is not a transformation for the film. This is me trying to find the lifestyle that I maintain for the rest of my life. It is for longevity," he explained.

On the work front, the star was last seen in the action-thriller ‘ Vikram Vedha’. He will next be seen in the action-adventure ‘Fighter’, opposite Deepika Padukone. The movie will be released on January 2024.
