Howzzat! When Sakshi Dhoni avenged hubby MS Dhoni's insult with a cryptic Instagram post

The big news before the start of the IPL was MS Dhoni being replaced by Steve Smith as captain of Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS).

After RPS’s victory over Mumbai Indians on April 6, Harsh Goenka, chairman of RPG Enterprises and the brother of team owner Sanjiv Goenka, hailed Smith’s effort in a tweet. He wrote: “RPSvMI Smith proves who’s the king of the jungle. Overshadows Dhoni totally. Captains innings. Great move to appoint him as captain”. Goenka deleted the tweet later.

In the second match, Goenka posted a stat, highlighting the strike rate of Pune players like Manoj Tiwari, Ajinkya Rahane and Dan Christian.

Dhoni, who had a higher strike rate compared to Christian and was not mentioned in Goenka’s post, did not respond to the comments.

Last week, however, Sakshi shared a picture on her Instagram account, wearing a Chennai Super Kings’ helmet and a yellow T-shirt, with a simple caption “#throwback!!”.

A day later, she posted a message: “When a bird is alive, it eats ants. When the bird is dead, ants eat the bird. Time and circumstances can change at any time. Don’t devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today, but remember, time is more powerful than you. One tree makes a million match sticks but only one match is needed to burn a million trees. So be good and do good.”

This is not the first time Sakshi has publicly come to her husband’s defence. Last month, when Dhoni’s personal details pertaining to his Aadhaar card were shared on social media, Sakshi slammed the authorities concerned on Twitter. Sakshi’s tweet caught the attention of Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad . Following an inquiry, the Unique Identi fication Authority of India (UIDAI) blacklisted the entity that had enrolled the ace cricketer for 10 years.
