The start-up boss, who recently finished reading Yuval Harari's 'Sapiens', is now glued to Vanita Kohli-Khandekar’s 'The Making of Star India', that tells the story of Australian-born American media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his big bet on the Indian company.
Talking about 'Sapiens', Kumar said, "I feel it is the best portrayal of human evolution in centuries."
He also shared his top five picks that include 'Shoe Dog' by Phil Knight, 'Big Billion Startup' - the Flipkart story by Mihir Dalal and 'How to build a Billion Dollar App' by George Berkowski - a book that Kumar says helped him a lot.
"I would also suggest 'Open' by Andre Agassi and 'Hooked' by Nir Eyal," he added. Kumar says George Berkowski's 'How to build a Billion Dollar App' helped him a lot. A local cricket magazine from Pakistan is the one thing that the Rooter founder spent ages trying to get his hands on.

A friend from Pakistan finally got it for him in 2016 when he visited.
When it comes to guilty reading pleasures, Kumar never misses the weekly horoscope. He explains, "Even though I don’t believe in it, I never miss reading it out of habit."
While talking about the e-books versus physical books debate, the boss feels that the winner is always a hard copy of a book. "There is something really intriguing about the smell and feel of crisply-bound pages. However, I also feel audio books are quite effective and work like a podcast, but I am yet to find my comfort there," he said.

In the lead-up to the 2011 World Cup, as part of a joint initiative by the ICC and 'Room to Read' to promote global literacy and access to books, Kohli revealed another favourite tome on his reading list.
“I like Andre Agassi’s autobiography. The author tells the story of his remarkable career, which featured many ups and downs. The best part about the book is that at no point does the author try to project himself as a ‘superhuman’. He is as human as you and me, but a champion and an inspiration,” said Kohli.
