How Rio Olympics changed PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth's lives

Badminton aces PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth had a great 2016 – with an Olympic medal for Sindhu and a quarter final place for Srikanth. The year 2017 was good too, with a number of Super Series wins under their belt. And much like how the duo’s on court rally is in sync, so was their take on their performance – both credit the Rio Olympics for a good year.

“Olympics changed my confidence levels as well as my game. I have improved a lot. The silver medal was a big boost,” Sindhu said at an event in Mumbai recently.

Her fellow athlete agreed, adding, “I have learnt a lot from my time at Rio, like things that I would do differently. That experience made me a better player, more mature. The confidence I got from Rio reflected in my performance last year.”
