How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves in the midst of a bitcoin scam

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found their names in the midst of an elaborated cryptocurrency scam recently.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the names of Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being used to promote endorsements on social media related to bitcoin investment plans.

The fraudsters used fabricated photos and interviews clips in articles to sell out fake information that Harry and Markle were in support of the faulty schemes.


One of such fake headlines read: 'People earning millions have home by using Harry and Meghan latest advice.'

To make it believable, the story also used the logos of International news brands such as the Mail, the BBC, the Guardian, the Sun and Good Morning Britain.

Another such fraud headline of a fake news piece read: 'Harry and Meghan shocked everyone in the studio by revealing how they making an extra 128K pounds every month.'

The scams came under the light after complaints of fraud by consumers to the UK's financial services watchdog shot up, which has already risen by over 400 per cent in five years, the Daily Mail reported.

Harry and Markle aren't the only one whose identities are being used for such scams. Other celebrities such as Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson and Mark Zuckerberg are also being misused in these scams to get rich quickly, according to report.
