How many flying sins have you committed? Atrocious habits of inflight passengers

How many of us utter a prayer under our breath before getting on an aircraft hoping that we don’t have to sit next to someone who talks too much? According to an annual survey of inflight behaviour by a travel portal, nearly 73 per cent of Indians do.

The study consisted of 1,002 interviewees aged 18+ and showed us what Indian flyers considered to be the most annoying traits while up in the air. And we have a lot of peeves.

In fact, Indians find rear seat kickers (52 per cent), boozers (50 per cent) and loud passengers (49 per cent) most annoying.

But it looks like we do have some tolerance, especially when there is a chance of romance.

Most respondents said they are most tolerant towards flirty singles (33 per cent) and amorous couples (30 per cent).

However, while they may tolerate it, if given a choice, a majority (65 per cent) would pay extra to be seated in a ‘quiet section’ if the airline offered one.
