How Avika Gor met IIM graduate future husband Milind Chandwani? Check Balika Vadhu star's love story

Avika Gor, best known for her iconic role as young Anandi in Balika Vadhu, recently got engaged to Milind Chandwani, an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and social activist. Their journey began in 2020 in Hyderabad, where they were introduced through mutual friends. What started as a casual acquaintance quickly turned into a close friendship, though it took time to blossom into a romantic relationship.

In a conversation on a podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Avika revealed that while she was sure about her feelings from the start, Milind chose to stay in the friend zone for the first six months. Avika jokingly said that in her mind, she was already married to him even before they began dating. Milind, on the other hand, wanted to ensure they had a strong foundation as friends before taking the relationship further.

Slow But Sure: From Friends to Soulmates

During the same interview, Avika explained that Milind eventually reciprocated her feelings after six months. When she asked him why he had taken so long, he calmly told her that he wanted to be sure of their compatibility beyond the initial attraction. This patient and thoughtful approach reflected Milind’s grounded personality, which complements Avika’s more emotional and expressive nature.


Their relationship developed steadily over the next few years. Avika, now also active in regional cinema, found in Milind a partner who understood both her professional world and her personal values. Meanwhile, Milind continued his impactful work through Camp Diaries, an NGO that focuses on creative and skill-based education for underprivileged children. Apart from being a former software engineer and Roadies Real Heroes contestant, Milind also served as an assistant school principal.

The Proposal: A Filmy Moment

On June 11, 2025, the couple got engaged in a private but picturesque ceremony. Avika wore a soft pink saree with a silver border, while Milind complemented her in a pastel pink Nehru jacket paired with an ivory kurta-pyjama. The coordinated outfits reflected their shared sense of style and occasion.

Avika shared engagement photos on Instagram, capturing joyful and candid moments from the ceremony. Along with the pictures, she posted a heartfelt caption that read: "He asked.. I smiled, I cried (in that order )...and screamed the easiest YES of my life! I'm full filmy — background score, slow-mo dreams, mascara running and all. He's logic, calm, and 'let's carry a first-aid kit just in case.' I manifest drama. He manages it. And somehow, we just… Fit."

In another part of her caption, she described how she emotionally reacted to the proposal: "So when he asked, the heroine in me took over — arms in the air, tears in my eyes, and zero network in my brain. Because of real love? It may not always be perfect. But, It. Is. Magical."

While Avika enjoys massive popularity in the entertainment industry, Milind has built a life centered around social work and education. His academic background, including an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and experience as a software engineer at Infosys, adds another dimension to his public image.
