Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi have been married since early 90s.
Today, they are known as one of the most loving couples on the small screen. However, in a recent conversation with her son Aaryamann Sethi, the ‘Kapil Sharma Show’ judge admitted that she experienced a turbulent time in her marriage with husband Parmeet. She revealed they had several ego clashes and were often talking at cross purposes.

“Everybody calls us the perfect couple… what is a perfect couple? But what is a perfect couple?! A perfect couple is one that has overcome the challenges of life. We faced a lot of challenges in our marriage... that was when Sri Sri Ravi Shankar helped us," she revealed.

One of her friend’s wife was an Art of Living practitioner based in Bengaluru. She did the course and also engaged in the Sudarshan Kriya technique, and it changed her life.

A Childhood Memory Resurfacing Through Meditation

During a practice of Sudarshan Kriya, a deeply buried childhood memory unexpectedly surfaced. Archana found herself repeatedly uttering a plea for her mother not to abandon her. The words puzzled her until she later asked her mother about their origin. Her mother explained that when Archana was just ten months old, she had traveled to Kolkata for ten days, leaving her behind. It was the only time in her life that her mother had ever left her alone. That brief separation had left an indelible mark on her subconscious, so powerful that decades later it resurfaced during meditation. Though she could not fully explain why this happened, she recognized the undeniable truth of the experience.

Encouraging a Partner to Heal

Moved by the transformation she experienced through meditation, Archana urged her husband, Parmeet, to try the Art of Living program as well. At that point, their relationship had grown tense and somewhat distant, but she felt this course could be the bridge they needed. She told him that this was not just a gift for their bond but also the best gift he could offer himself.

Reconnecting Through Shared Practice

Parmeet eventually attended a session in Bangalore, and that decision became a turning point in their relationship. The course allowed him to rediscover his wife in a new light, seeing her beauty and essence even when they had been caught up in conflicts. With this fresh perspective, they began conversing again and rebuilding the warmth between them. Together, they committed to daily practices of meditation, pranayama, and Sudarshan Kriya. Through this shared discipline, they realized their profound connection and embraced the understanding that they were true soulmates bound by deep love.

A Husband’s Emotional Release

In a separate conversation with Aaryamann, Parmeet described how the Art of Living course and the practice of Sudarshan Kriya brought about a profound cleansing of his inner self. For the first time, he released long-suppressed grief, crying intensely for his sister. Carrying those unexpressed emotions had weighed on him for years, but meditation provided the space for release. The experience reshaped his outlook, making him recognize the immense transformative power these practices held in healing both the heart and the soul.

Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi have shared a marriage spanning 33 years, and together they are parents to two sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan. Recently, their elder son Aaryamann made headlines when he proposed to actress Yogita Bihani. The announcement of their engagement was revealed by him through his social media accounts on August 14.

Sethi is an Indian film and television actor, widely recognized for his debut role as Kuljeet Singh in Aditya Chopra’s iconic 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
