Twitter on Tuesday was full of mixed reactions and memes on the Budget announced by Sitharaman.
In the middle of Covid-19 third wave, finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday presented the Union Budget 2022 in Parliament and the focus on the digital sector was visible in her speech.

The Rs 39.45 lakh crore Budget includes higher spending on highways to affordable housing with a view to fire up the key engines of the economy to sustain a world-beating recovery from the pandemic.

The FM's 'futuristic' Budget for 2022-23 beginning April proposed a massive 35 per cent jump in capital expenditure to Rs 7.5 lakh crore, coupled with the rationalisation of customs duty and an extension of time for setting up new manufacturing companies.

The government also has plans for starting a digital currency and tax crypto assets, which was welcomed by Indian bosses on social media platforms as much needed and refreshing step-up in the technology sector which will contribute to the economy.

The Budget also introduced a blockchain-based Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), which the Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma called "incredible".

"#CBDC Jay Ho! What an incredible announcement of #Budget2022," Sharma tweeted.
