Hina Khan says her wedding to Rocky Jaiswal took place in less than 15 minutes: ‘I don’t think we were ready…'

Actress Hina Khan wed her long-time boyfriend, Rocky Jaiswal, in June last year. Although the couple were together for more than a decade, it took only 15 minutes for them to decide to tie the knot and proceed to be man and wife. The duo even forgot about being married until friends and family began wishing them well. Khan, who is a cancer survivor and was battling stage 3 breast cancer, gave her partner an ultimatum – to move on and marry someone else, or make her his wife.

Hina told Sania Mirza: “This was just a random decision. We didn’t plan this. I don’t think we were ready to get married or anything. We have been together for the longest time—more than 10 years. I think 13-14 years now. And it is just that, whatever I was going through health-wise, I told him, ‘Either you move ahead… you go get married to somebody, whoever you want to, or you better get married to me because I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow,” she said.

When Sania asked if the wedding actually happened in just 15 minutes, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star said it took less than that.


Hina said the marriage did not change their dynamic, and the pair forgot they were married even. It’s been more than a year, and we did not remember our first wedding anniversary.”

“We didn’t until the night when people started wishing us. Then we looked at each other and wished each other well. We are so chill and cool with each other. We are not dates people,” she added.

Hina is best known for playing the protagonist Akshara in the family drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She started dating Rocky Jaiswal, the supervising producer of the hit show in 2014. In 2024, she revealed she was suffering from stage 3 breast cancer.

She married Rocky in a simple ceremony in 2025. Sharing their wedding picture, she wrote: “From two different worlds, we built a universe of love. Our differences faded, our hearts aligned, creating a bond to last lifetimes. We are our home, our light, our hope and together, we transcend all barriers. Today, our union is forever sealed in love and law. We seek your Blessings and Wishes as Wife and Husband.”
