Hima Das along with her sprinter teammates is at the NIS Patiala. Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Poovamma MR, Arokia Rajiv and Das got an upgraded gold medal from the 4X400 metre event at the 2018 Asian Games a few weeks ago as the Bahrain team was disqualified due to doping by one of their athletes.

The 20-year-old who has started field training a month ago, dedicated the laurel to the doctors, police and others working to help curb coronavirus and it's spread in India.

She told ET Panache on the phone, "The Olympic postponement has been good for me. I will use this time to stay motivated. Adidas's recent campaign has been really nice to inspire hardwork. The slogan is really motivating. I need to qualify for the Olympics. Their slogan, 'Everything is possible' is my 'Mon Jai' that pushes me. They have supported me physically and mentally which has been a huge boost. I have benefited a lot."

The Adidas film ‘What’s One More' under the ‘Ready For Sport’ campaign was launched to keep athletes ready for the 2021 Olympic Games.

The film has been aimed at connecting communities eagerly awaiting their return to active sports. Since the world’s biggest sports competitions have been paused due to the pandemic, the film explores how these cancellations affected the physical and mental wellness of individuals. It also reinforced the fact that being positive and resilient are two vital elements required to inspire athletes to bounce back stronger.

As the gold medal was one of the first won by any team in the mixed relay event where men and women both run together, Das sees it as historic.

She explained, "We will be remembered for this medal. It's always great to be part of something that will go down in the books of athletic history."
