High Potential Season 3 and Special Episode: Release date, time, cast, crew and where to watch

High Potential Season 3 official release date has been finalized. The crime comedy will return on Tuesday, January 5, 2027 at 9pm ET on ABC. The series stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Gillory. It will also have a special episode after Superbowl LXI on February 14, 2027.

The new series will be aired on ABC on Tuesday, January 5, 2027 at 9pm ET. It will also be available to watch on Hulu. A clip of Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Gillory was shown in the announcement. She introduces herself as a consultant for the LAPD. She says that she is someone who notices things. She then points to a post it note which shows when Season 3 is coming out. "I'm a genius, don't feel bad," she comments.





There will also be a special two part episode airing right after Superbowl LXI on Sunday, February 14, 2027. The special will air at 10.15pm ET on ABC and Disney+. It won't be the first new episode of Season 3.

What happened to Captain Wagner?

One of the biggest questions we have heading into Season 3 is what happened to Captain Nick Wagner played by Steve Howey. He was attacked and left in a critical condition in Morgan's arms. Steve Howey is stepping away from the role so it remains to be seen if he dies or if he makes a final appearance.

High Potential Season 3 cast

The series will need to answer the mystery of Roman. A character believed to be Roman attended Ava's art show. The returning characters are Kaitlin Olson, Daniel Sunjata as Detective Adam Karadec, Judy Reyes as Lieutenant Selena Soto, Javicia Leslie as Daphne Forrester and Deniz Akdeniz as Lev "Oz" Özdil. Morgan's children Ava and Elliot are played by Amirah J and Matthew Lamb.

High Potential Season 3 crew

Long-time showrunner and executive producer Todd Harthan is stepping away from the series to work on other projects with Disney. Nora and Lilla Zuckerman will be taking over as showrunners. They have previously worked on Rian Johnson's murder mystery series Poker Face and are also writing Scream 8.
