Svasa Homes hosted His Highness Sri YKC Wadiyar, the Maharaja of Mysuru at the screening of ‘Wild Karnataka’ in a celebration of the state’s heritage.

Standing beside the lush greenery housed by the Ramakrishna Math, in the heartland of Bangalore’s cultural antiquity, it felt apt that Svasa Homes hosted a celebration of the state’s heritage. The 3 acres of land that it covers is a space conceptualised to be a home for people, as well as art and culture, fittingly hosted the first edition of the Svasa Heritage Series.

The evening was kicked off by the lovely Carnatic Jazz stylings of the Aditi Ramesh Ensemble. Followed by it, in the middle of wide open spaces that characterise Svasa Homes, the British Deputy High Commissioner to India, Jeremy Pilmore Bedford and Film-maker Amogh began the evening with their introduction of the film ‘Wild Karnataka’. His Highness Sri YKC Wadiyar, the Maharaja of Mysuru also spoke about the conservation of heritage and the need for mass action in that interest.

The film enthralled a good gathering of over 200 people who sat mesmerised by the visuals and enraptured by Sir David Attenborough’s commentary. Amogh closed out the evening by thanking his team at Mudskipper Labs, the forest officers who they’ve worked closely with, and Ravi Machani, the Managing Director of Machani Group for their support.

Ensconced between the 18-storey towers Praana and Dhyana, housing 134 apartments, the screening was held in the Tapovana courtyard mirroring old South Indian culture where community activities would be hosted in the open courtyard.

What would otherwise be known as a clubhouse is called the Commonhouse at Svasa Homes. All the spaces in the commonhouse and the apartment above have been designed to provide a holistic experience of heritage, community, and luxury. It consists of a unique library called ‘Bodhi’, lounges that are designed for work, play, and community activities. These spaces have also been populated with several pieces of art and heritage that have been carefully put together to create a unique experience of South Indian heritage.
