Here's how Palladium Hotel's Atul Ruia & St. Regis are connected

Destiny works in strange ways. While we know that the luxury hospitality chain St. Regis will make its entry in India with The Palladium Hotel in central Mumbai, the two hospitality brands have an interesting connection.

St. Regis was set up by Colonel John Jacob Astor IV, whose family was one of the initial group of aristocrats in New York. The landmark NY hotel was opened in 1904. It was the same year when Ramnarain Ruia, grandfather of Atul Ruia, who owns the Palladium Hotel, bought the Phoenix Mills land, where the property stands today. A strange coincidence, indeed.
