How and when did you decided to get on the Sagoon journey as an investor?
Mandira: Like any other business woman, I am always looking out for investment opportunities which can generate handsome returns for me in the future, which also enables me to do good for the society.
I got associated with Sagoon at the end of 2017 which resulted in me becoming a part of their app launch event in New Delhi, on Jan 2018 along with actress Shraddha Kapoor. We had a great event and some very exciting conversation while rehearsing for the event. On the day of the event, I got to hear the growing problems of social media that Sagoon is trying to resolve through its interesting and thoughtful features. The team was very passionate and hardworking. Then came this investment opportunity, so there was nothing that could have stopped me in joining the bandwagon.
What inspired you to be a part of Sagoon?
Mandira: From where I see, Sagoon mirrors innovation and has a unique and refreshing concept of Connect, Share and Earn. My conversation with the team and the founders gave me insights into how focused they are to make social media a productive and knowledge sharing platform. We all know the evil side of social media nowadays, so if someone is working towards changing the narrative, why should I miss the bus.
Mandira: First and foremost, the founders' belief in creating the third wave of the Internet to build more meaningful social interactions is great. I strongly feel this is the need of the hour.
How do you feel being a part of the Rise and Shine Club?
I never got the chance to invest early in any other billion-dollar companies. If I had this opportunity, it would be so great; don’t you also think so. Now that we are getting a chance with a very low risk involved and in a well-regulated way, I believe there is no harm participating in it.
Finally, what is your message to the Sagoon founders and its team?
Mandira: I have had conversations with the Sagoon team and its founders many times and this gave me insights into how focused they are to make social media a productive and knowledge sharing platform. So, I wish them best of luck and hope that they’ll succeed in creating a new social world order right here from India.
