(Note: This list only includes salary listings with five or more reviews. Some salaries listed on Glassdoor were excluded from this list because they didn't include enough employee reviews)

1. Senior Director Salary: $278,628 The duties and responsibility for a senior director depend on which department you're hired for, but it's a top leadership position where you'll be expected to lead teams and bring tons of experience to the role.

2. Software Engineering Director Salary: $228,209 The software engineering director builds the systems that Apple's products run on in addition to managing a team.

3. Senior Counsel Salary: $218,746 This type of role would likely require between eight and 10 years of experience. You would be tasked with counseling employees on ethics and conducting legal investigations when necessary.

4. Senior Engineering Manager Salary: $196,036 A top-tier job like this typically requires around 10 years of experience. You're in charge of the team that makes sure Apple's products and services run smoothly.

At first, those doubters said Apple was doomed because it refused to make a "cheap" iPhone to compete with all those budget-friendly Android phones that eventually helped Google snap up a good 80% or more of the global smartphone market.

The theory went that unless Apple made a cheaper phone, Google would take over the world and developers would flock to the platform and start making the best apps for Android instead of iPhone.

Xiaomi, Samsung, LG, Motorola - phones from those companies can do all the same stuff.

The only difference between them are price and design. And if someone wants an Android phone, they go for the cheapest model with the best specs. Lately, Xiaomi has been the only company to fit that mold.
