In an interview with News18, Rawal described the reconciliation as positive. He said that despite the earlier fallout, his relationship with Priyadarshan remained intact and even strengthened. He explained that both now understand each other better, stating that the “wound has been healed” and their equation is transparent.
Shooting Schedule for Hera Pheri 3
Rawal shared details about the upcoming production, confirming that the shoot for Hera Pheri 3 is scheduled to begin between February and March 2026. He will reprise his iconic role as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, alongside Akshay Kumar as Raju and Suniel Shetty as Shyam.Priyadarshan returns as director for the franchise, while Kumar’s banner, Cape of Good Films, is producing the movie. The first installment of Hera Pheri released in 2000, followed by the sequel Phir Hera Pheri in 2006.
Baburao Spin-Off: Not on the Cards
Addressing speculation about a potential spin-off centered on his character Baburao, Rawal clarified that no such project has been discussed. He emphasized that a film is a collaborative effort, stating that Baburao cannot exist independently without Raju and Shyam. Rawal added that he is neither greedy nor believes the world revolves around him, and that any future spin-off would still require the presence of the other central characters.He also reflected on Phir Hera Pheri, noting that Suniel Shetty was the only co-star who maintained his character’s integrity fully, implying some disappointment with the sequel’s execution.
Upcoming Projects
Apart from Hera Pheri 3, Paresh Rawal will appear in Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi, set for release on September 19. Meanwhile, collaborations with Akshay Kumar continue in other films, including Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla and Ahmed Khan’s adventure-comedy Welcome to the Jungle.Recently, the teaser of The Taj Story was unveiled on Thursday, featuring veteran actor Paresh Rawal as a lawyer. Also starring Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das, the film is positioned as a bold social drama. The movie has been written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, with Vikas Radhesham as creative producer and music by Rohit Sharma.
