He earned Rs 25,000 daily, father said it's my monthly salary but Lakshya Lalwani left it all behind. Here's why

In today’s entertainment industry, where actors often chase high-paying roles for financial security, few are willing to take a risk and pursue passion over paycheck. Lakshya Lalwani is one such example. Despite earning a substantial daily wage on television, he chose to leave a steady income behind to follow his dreams in films—a decision that reflects both ambition and courage in a competitive industry.

In a candid conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia on his YouTube channel in 2024, Lalwani revealed the reasons behind this bold decision.

Choosing Passion Over Perks

At the height of his television career, Lakshya was earning between ₹15,000 and ₹25,000 per day, which, according to producer Ramesh Taurani, could translate to a potential ₹30 lakh per month. Despite this, Lalwani admitted that he felt drawn toward exploring the world of films. He recalled discussing the decision with his father, Romesh Lalwani, who pointed out that the daily amount Lakshya earned on TV equaled his entire monthly salary.



“My father told me to take the offer, as the money I was earning per day was equivalent to his month’s income,” he said, reflecting on the practical and supportive perspective his father offered.

Early Career and Television Success

Before leaping films, Lakshya built a steady career in television. He appeared in shows such as Warrior High, Adhuri Kahaani Hamari, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, and notably Porus. His consistent performances earned him recognition, and yet, as the show Porus neared its conclusion, he felt the urge to pursue bigger opportunities.


Lakshya made his Bollywood debut with Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The hyperviolent film, which also starred Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, was received well globally. More recently, he starred in Aryan Khan’s Netflix series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, alongside Bobby Deol and Manoj Pahwa, further cementing his presence in mainstream entertainment.

Looking Ahead

Lakshya was recently spotted at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in Mumbai, sparking speculation about potential collaborations with the acclaimed filmmaker. This move indicates that Lakshya is not just exploring films but is strategically positioning himself for high-profile projects that could define the next phase of his career.
