#HBDSuperstarRajinikanth: From Modi to Amitabh Bachchan, the world wishes the actor

Superstar Rajnikanth turned 66 on Monday, and while the actor had earlier requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday, celebrities and fans took to Twitter to wish the legendary star.

The actor's manager Riaz Ahmed had earlier tweeted, "Rajinikanth requests his fans not to celebrate his birthday."

Reportedly, Rajinikanth had made this request as a mark of respect to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.

However, wishes poured in on Twitter from far and wide for the actor, born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad:
