Havells's women-centric schemes
Havells, which usually bombards TV viewers with ads during cricket tournaments, has been consistent in its support of women. Taking this a step further, the company launched a new scheme where it transfers a percentage of a dealer's profit to his wife or daughter.

In fact, Anil Rai Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, Havells India, mentioned this at the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation event in Delhi a few weeks ago, and even tweeted about it. Named the 'Grihalakshmi scheme' — which rolled out about six months ago — it is applicable to the company's 5,000 dealers across India. The intention was to involve the wives of the dealers, who were educated and wanted to contribute to the business in some way.
