Haute off the shelf: Tommy Hilfiger’s tell-all book
Fashion greats such as Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld have published memoirs in the past, giving their fans a glimpse into what it took to create a legacy. Now, it’s renowned designer Tommy Hilfiger’s turn to follow suit. Hilfiger, 63, in his memoir with Ballantine Books, an imprint of Random House, will take readers through his childhood, his start in the fashion industry and the several ups and downs that he had to face before finally building the multi-billion dollar brand.

The second of nine children, Hilfiger’s journey began in 1969 when he was still in high school and yet, he succeeded in opening a chain of clothing stores. “Reflecting on my experiences over the last 30-plus years has been a wild ride,” he said, adding, “I always believe the best is yet to come, but so far, it’s been the adventure of a lifetime.” Looks like we’ll have more than just a fashion collection from Hilfiger this fall season.
