Has Rolls-Royce's brand image been affected by the latest corruption charges?
The question is for Jamal Al Mawed, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations in Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and South America.

Jamal Al Mawed

There is a lot of confusion in the minds of people as well as in the media. Rolls-Royce, the aircraft engine maker, is no longer affiliated with the luxury car producer. We represent the car company and so this corruption charge is not on us. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW, established in 1998 after BMW was licensed the rights to the Rolls -Royce brand name and logo. Rolls-Royce Motors Cars Limited is the exclusive manufacturer of Rolls-Royce branded motor cars since 2003. So yes, the controversy has affected us, even though we are not involved in anyway. Due to the names being the same and the fact that people are unaware that we are two separate entities is what has caused our brand name to suffer.
