The news was confirmed in a post on the late singer's official Instagram account. The Instagram Story shared that his last rites will be performed at 3 PM on Tuesday.
The statement in Hindi read, "With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform you that famous Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi has left for the heavenly abode. His last rites will be performed on Tuesday (August 22, 2023) at his native village Rawatsar in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan, near Khetarpal temple at 3 PM."

Reports claimed that the late 40-year-old was admitted to a private hospital for the last several days. He was admitted for jaundice. However, his health improved during treatment and he was discharged from the hospital. Days later, his condition started deteriorating and he was hospitalised again.
The sudden demise of the famous singer shocked the fans and friends from the industry.
Raju was a resident of Azadnagar in Hisar. He is survived by his wife Mamta and three daughters.
Raju released his latest song 'Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Achha Laga Tha' on August 12 before being hospitalised. The song took almost two years to complete.
While his songs were superhit, he performed many songs with singer Sapna Chowdhary which won people's hearts. He was known as one of the big artists of the Haryanvi music industry.
