Chairman Harsh Goenka felt the RPG Enterprises's new space had to symbolise a young, vibrant and cheerful workforce.

Harsh Goenka's brief to Elsie Nanji: An office that says, 'Wow, it's Monday' and not 'TGIF'
When RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka visited ad veteran Elsie Nanji's office in Mumbai to discuss plans for his new workspace, he couldn't help but stare at the interiors.

"He was not listening but kept looking around at my office," says Nanji. "He told me he wanted his new place to look like mine. Colourful and cheerful." And that's what Nanji accomplished with the RPG Group's new corporate workspace in the city.

"Even though all the rooms are unique, you will find a common vein running through the place. I saw two pillars in the space and thought let's make this a corporate tree house — the two pillars are trees that end at the top of the building," says Nanji, who designed the space.

Speaking to ETPanache, Goenka reveals that the brief for the new office was — vibrant, young, colourful and distinctive. "There are lots of places where you can sit, chat and brainstorm, whether indoors or outdoors in the garden area," he says.

"In the present era, you cannot be silo-ed. You have to be open and collaborative. The whole objective of the RPG office is to say, 'Wow, it's Monday, I want to come to office' and not 'Thank God it's Friday!'".
