'It's a dirty game.' Didn't want Meghan to go through Lady Diana's ordeal, says Prince Harry as new Netflix show draws comparison
In 'Harry & Meghan', the Duke talks about the "pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution."

The OTT platform also unveiled the release date of the show where we will see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, taking the audience behind the locked doors of Buckingham Palace.
In case the teaser of the show wasn’t full of innuendos, the trailer of ‘Harry & Meghan’ is full of explosive claims. The video starts with Harry saying that Britain's royal household regularly leak stories about each other, and then goes ahead to call it "a dirty game".
"It's really hard to look back on it now and go ‘what on earth happened?’,” Harry says. The trailer then shows glimpses of crowds congregating about the couple during their visits and meet-and-greet events.
We hear a news presenter saying "She's becoming a royal rock star!" followed by chants of "Meghan, we love you!" before the screen goes blank and the actress appears on the screen.
"And then ..." Meghan says before snapping her fingers as Harry adds: "Everything changed."
“There's a hierarchy of the family. You know, there's leaking, but there's also planting of stories,”
A lawyer for Meghan, Jenny Afia, claims in the show’s trailer that during her time in Britain "there was a war against Meghan to suit other people's agendas" while we see footage of the Duchess of Sussex crying.
A voice, which appears to be Harry's, goes on to refer to the "pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution" while showing images of Princess Diana, Harry’s mother and his sister-in-law Kate. “This feeding frenzy," he calls it.
Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 while trying to shake off paparazzi.
Since Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties two years ago and moved to California, they have delivered stinging criticism of the British monarchy and accusations of racism, accusations that the family has dismissed.
"I was terrified. I didn't want history to repeat itself," Harry is heard saying as the trailer shuffles through glimpses between Diana and the couple, trying to draw a similarity. "No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth," Duke says at the end of the trailer of the much-awaited docuseries.
While the Netflix trailer packs many punches and delivers impactful attacks, many criticised ‘Harry & Meghan’ which is yet to release. People called the docuseries a blatant attempt to upstage heir to the throne Prince William as he visited the United States and effectively amounted to a "declaration of war".
“We all know Harry and Meghan are flexible when it comes to the truth but even by their standards using footage of media waiting for Katie Price outside Crawley Magistrates Court and implying it was related to them is absolutely wild #HarryandMeghanonNetflix,” wrote one Twitter user after watching the show’s trailer.
