Harper Lee debuts behind Amish Tripathi in India
Harper Lee's comeback on the literary charts — Go Set a Watchman — sold more than a million copies in US and Canada in a week after its release this month. In India, the book has debuted strong at number 2 on the charts behind Indian author Amish Tripathi's Scion of Ikshvaku, according to publishers Penguin Random House. While the publishing house didn't wish to divulge the exact figures, it did reveal that Watchman has renewed interest in Lee's 1960 classic To Kill a Mockingbird.

The man who has edged out Lee on the Indian charts, meanwhile, characteristically downplayed the significance of the number. "I don't think we should get into which book is selling more or less. That is not a purposeful conversation," he says.

Amish did confess that Go Set a Watchman is on his soon-to-be-read list, adding, "I had enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird many years ago. As of now, I am reading Amitav Ghosh's latest."
