Social media’s newest obsession is not for the faint-hearted — or the unbalanced. A wild new challenge inspired by Nicki Minaj's 2013 track High School has creators risking life and limb (literally) for the perfect pose. The trend, born from a shot in Minaj’s music video, has now taken over Instagram feeds worldwide. With stilettos on and confidence dialled up, people are climbing unstable objects to strike gravity-defying poses. It’s bold, it's glamorous — and in some cases, downright dangerous.

Indian actress-model and Hardik Pandya’s ex-wife, Natasa Stankovic, joined the trend in style. She perched effortlessly on a cup, tea in hand, wearing black shades, a grey crop top and denim.

Meanwhile, content creator Rida Tharana brought boardroom glam with maroon stilettos, cross-legged atop a stack of dumbbells, tapping away on her laptop. Styled with a messy bun, maroon tie, and smart spectacles, she nailed the corporate-cool aesthetic.

Others got even more creative. Influencer Krutika balanced on a curious pile of beauty products — chunky silver heels resting on a hairspray and compact case. Vagmita Singh went vintage with a dramatic twist, striking a pose on one foot atop a black car, perfectly matching her heels and sunglasses to the retro vibe.

But not everyone walked away unscathed. Russian influencer Mariana Barutkina from Yekaterinburg suffered a spinal fracture while attempting the challenge just eight weeks after giving birth. According to E! Online and Complex, she tried the stunt in her kitchen — stilettos on, standing on a baby food jar placed on a saucepan atop a counter.

Though she nailed the pose briefly, she lost balance and fell backwards to the floor. Despite the injury, Barutkina had no regrets. In fact, she embraced the unexpected fame after more than 50 people sent her own reel to her and she work up a popular person.
