Hanuman Ansh has turned into one of the biggest surprises at the Indian box office this year. The low-budget film is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. With a slow start in theatres, the film has picked up strongly over the weeks and continues to attract audiences even after several new releases. Its latest box-office figures have now put it ahead of Mirzapur The Movie in the race.

On Day 41, Hanuman Ansh earned around Rs 6 crore net in India, taking its total domestic net collection to approximately Rs 237 crore. Its worldwide gross has also crossed the Rs 300 crore mark.

Hanuman Ansh crosses Rs 300 crore worldwide

According to the early estimates by Sacnilk.com, Hanuman Ansh has collected around Rs 280 crore gross in India and another Rs 20.25 crore from overseas markets. This takes its worldwide gross to approximately Rs 300.25 crore after 41 days.

The film's journey has been far from ordinary. Made on a reported budget of less than Rs 2 crore, Hanuman Ansh did not show signs of becoming a major box-office success during its opening days.

The film reportedly opened with just around Rs 10 lakh. Its first two weeks were also slow, with the total standing at only about Rs 1.50 crore. However, positive word of mouth gradually brought more viewers to theatres.

The momentum became particularly strong from the fourth week onwards. The film has reportedly been collecting more than Rs 60 crore net in India each week since then, allowing it to maintain its run despite competition from bigger and newer releases.

The film was released on August 7, a week before Batwara and Awarapan 2. It also continued to hold audiences despite the arrival of films such as Akshay Kumar's Haiwaan and Mirzapur The Movie.

Hanuman Ansh overtakes Mirzapur The Movie

The latest figures have also created an interesting box-office comparison between Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur The Movie. While the latter arrived in theatres much later and comes from an established franchise, the former has continued to post strong numbers more than a month after its release.

Mirzapur The Movie, starring Pankaj Tripathi, has been performing well at the box office and is nearing the Rs 200 crore mark in India. According to Sacnilk report, the film earned Rs 3.75 crore net on Day 13, taking its India net collection to Rs 199.45 crore.

Its India gross collection stands at around Rs 237.64 crore, while its worldwide gross has reached approximately Rs 286.64 crore.

At that stage, Mirzapur The Movie was only around Rs 55 lakh away from crossing Rs 200 crore in India net. However, Hanuman Ansh has already moved ahead in terms of its reported India net collection and worldwide gross.

Neem Karoli Baba film's unusual journey

Hanuman Ansh is written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi. The film follows Lakshminarayan, a young man dealing with the death of his mother. He begins a spiritual journey across North India while searching for answers about life, death and suffering.

The journey eventually leads him towards becoming Neem Karoli Baba, the revered spiritual figure on whom the film is based.

The film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role, along with Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel.

Its box-office performance has also pushed the film into the list of the highest-grossing Indian releases of 2026. Based on the figures cited, Hanuman Ansh has now entered the top three highest-grossing films in India this year, behind Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2.

Meanwhile, Mirzapur The Movie continues its theatrical run. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film brings the popular Mirzapur franchise to the big screen. The story is set between episodes six and seven of the first season and features several familiar characters from the series.

With both films continuing their box-office journeys, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as the more unusual success story. Stay tuned!
