Haider actor Narendra Jha marries former Censor Board CEO Pankaja Thakur

TV actor Narendra Jha, who is currently seen in the show Begusarai and who was also noticed as Shahid Kapoor's screen dad in Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider, tied the knot with the former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) CEO Pankaja Thakur in a quiet ceremony on May 11 near Nashik in Maharashtra.

In fact, the news remained a secret until a couple of days ago. Says the actor, who's also featured in several films, "We are private people, so we wanted it to be a low-key affair. Apart from our families, only a few close friends were a part of it. We didn't make a hue and cry about it, primarily because we aren't in our 20s. Secondly , the industry assumes things when two people get together."

Narendra and Pankaja have known each other for a long time. "I have known her since the time we were in Delhi.I met her again in 2007. I proposed marriage to her in 2009 and it took her a year to accept my proposal. She made up her mind about getting remarried at the end of 2010, but she then asked for time. She was co-parenting her daughter along with her ex-husband. She didn't want to disturb her daughter's life back then since she was quite young," he says. ­
