Had no option but to file an FIR: ISL Goa's Dattaraj Salgaocar on assault by Chennai captain Elano Blumel
Chennayin FC may have won the ISL final but the world is still buzzing about the alleged altercation.

Salgaocar lodged a complaint with the Goa police saying that Elano assaulted him. According to some reports, Salgaocar peeved at the narrow defeat provoked Elano by saying the match was fixed. When contacted by ETPanache, Salgaocar's secretary said that he "would not want to answer any specific questions at this time", but he was willing to share what unfolded in his words:
"It has always been my policy, and that of my colleagues and the entire team at FC Goa, to cultivate a spirit of professionalism and sportsmanship. So it was shocking to be physically assaulted and verbally abused by the Chennai captain, Elano, after I was wishing him in our dugout after the game. Such unwarranted, unprovoked aggression is unacceptable, particularly from the captain of a team. It should not be tolerated and as he did not apologise nor were the officials taking any action to remove him from the ground as normally is done worth such an assault, I had no option but to file an FIR and we refrained from the awards ceremony. Ignoring Elano's behaviour would be tantamount to encouraging it."
