'Taarak Mehta actor Gurucharan Singh update: Pending marriage, ATM transaction add intrigue over disappearance

Fresh details from missing actor Gurucharan Singh, have come to light. The ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasmah’ star has been missing since April 22. According to an NDTV report, the actor was supposed to tie the knot soon. He was also facing a financial crisis.

The Delhi police revealed that the actor had withdrawn about Rs 7,000 from an ATM in Delhi, and his last whereabouts were traced to a region called Palam, a place a few kilometres away from his home. He had visited the area on April 24, and after that, his mobile was switched off.

“His flight was scheduled for 8.30 pm on Monday, but he was seen at a traffic intersection in Palam at around 9.14 pm," the police report said. The actor was also seen crossing a road with a backpack in a CCTV footage.


According to his father, the ‘TMKOC’ actor was travelling from Delhi to Mumbai. He had not reached Mumbai and had also not returned to his home. A kidnapping case has been filed by the police.

Singh rose to fame for his depiction of Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi in the widely beloved sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma'. Playing a jovial mechanical engineer dedicated to his spouse yet embracing a penchant for revelry, his portrayal charmed audiences with its comedic brilliance. Although he received praise for his role, he opted to leave the series citing personal challenges.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, known for portraying the wife of Gurcharan Singh's character Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi, expressed her concern about her former co-star. She mentioned that she attempted to reach out to him recently but found his phone switched off. Bansiwal admitted to being out of touch with him for about a year and expressed uncertainty about whether the show's team was assisting him, as she hadn't been in contact with them either. She described Gurcharan as a good person and hoped for his well-being, expressing her hopefulness while awaiting news about him.
